Sierra Gorda of Querétaro
The Biosphere Reserve Sierra Gorda was created by presidential decree on May 19, 1997, in order to protect the exceptional wealth of species and ecosystems that have, and is under management of the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) of SEMARNAT. The reserve is located in the northern state of Querétaro.
Named World Heritage by UNESCO in 2003, 5 of the eighteenth century Franciscan missions are located in the vicinity of the natural beauty of the Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO-Man and the Biosphere MAB-UNESCO in 2001.
The main biological characteristic of the Sierra Gorda is its eco-diversity, a characteristic that makes it unique for the large number of ecosystems present. For that reason, it is the richest area, preserved and diverse state of Queretaro. It ranks first among the ANP's in Mexico in terms of eco-diversity, which is due to its geographical position at the confluence of the Nearctic and Neotropical bioregions and because of their highly complex physiographic and various altitudes ranging from 300 m in the Santa Maria River Canyon to the 3,100 m in the Cerro de La Pingüica. These factors, coupled with a heterogeneous precipitation ranging from 350, to 2.000, leads many climatic variations. The different patterns of rainfall are stimulated by the mountain ranges that make up the Sierra Gorda, which cause the so-called orographic or rain shadows.
Hydrologically belongs to the Panuco River basin, through currents such as Santa Maria rivers and Montezuma, which in turn feed on the tributaries of the rivers Escanela, Tancuilín, Extoraz, Ayutla and Conca.

Pyramid "El Pueblito"
Since you come to El Pueblito get to see a Toltec pyramid atop which stands a Spanish house. Personally, I never imagined that in the greater metropolitan area of the city of Queretaro could find an Indian ceremonial center as large and important as The Great Cue, also known as El Cerrito.
This shrine was first inhabited by Chupícuaro, around the year 400 BC C, then was occupied by the Teotihuacan and, ultimately, by the Toltecs. Thanks to its location, nestled in a very central point, it became a religious center and most important trade in the region.
It is said that with the arrival of the Spanish was used El Cerrito for the Indians would begin to relate to Catholicism.
Time passed and the vegetation began to eat the indigenous constructions. The land was acquired by an influential family in the state, the new owners decided to build on top of El Cerrito house that seems strong, to take care of all their property, knowing who built the house on an ancient pyramid.
A few years ago began the excavation and restoration work of this ceremonial center, and it is possible to visit to learn what has been discovered at the site, also thanks the tour all visitors can soak up all the history of Mexico.
Getting there It should be Paseo Constituency and left into the road on Tejeda, following the signs to Corregidora.

The aqueduct of Queretaro
The aqueduct of Queretaro, the aqueduct is the symbol and pride of the city of Queretaro. It is considered the most important Mexican urban work of the eighteenth century. It was built to channel water to the city. It is a monumental building 74 arches now reaching an average height of 23 m and a length of 1300 m.
This aqueduct is the symbol of the city of Queretaro and one of the largest in Mexico. Although people consider synonyms "arcs" and "pipeline", the arches are just visible and spectacular part of a long aqueduct, single channel as part hidden and unknown. It should be the benefactor of Querétaro Juan Antonio de Urrutia and Arana, Marques de la Villa del Villar del Aguila, who had it built between 1726 and 1738 to satisfy a request of the Capuchin nuns and bring water to the city. Do not just put most of the capital, but he himself drew, calculated and added to the work of dozens of workers. According to legend, was in love with a nun and so spent an immense fortune to build the aqueduct.
